An Exercise in the Nonsensical: The Melodious Murder of the USA, or Sunset in South Boston

Twilight breaks upon a nation perturbed
Singing sweet hymns to no one in particular.
Lounging in the darkness they’re so disturbed:
Verisimilitude can be curricular.
Lingering glances at a stranger’s face
Kiss the hallowed death of a love overdone.
States copulate in incestuous embrace,
Shadows saunter lazily in the midnight sun.
